Cafeteria 125 Plan/Flex Benefits - Cafeteria plans allow employees to pay for various benefits on a pre-taxation basis. The three basic components of a Cafeteria plan include: Pre-tax of insurance premium contributions (Premium Only Plans, P.O.P.), unreimbursed Medical Savings Account and reimbursement for child care expenses. One or all of these options can be selected and offered to assist employees. Although Premium Only Plans (P.O.P.s) can generally be administered by the employer with simple plan document filings, the full flex plan requires a third party administrator to operate the plan and regulate IRS compliance.
